TYROLIT Schleifmittelwerke Swarovski KG

Precision and innovation in medical technology

TYROLIT, now a constant as a grinding solutions provider in medical technology, is presenting a broad portfolio at COMPAMED 2021 in Düsseldorf.

Schwaz (Austria), October 2021:

TYROLIT returns to COMPAMED 2021 with a focus on orthopaedics. Tools for machining knee and hip joints remain one of the most important areas when it comes to the topic of grinding in medical technology. In Hall 14, at Stand A20, customers and potential new customers can see the products and expertise up close.

Introduced for the first time at the 2019 trade fair, the now tried and tested support body made of natural fibres, which enables a significant reduction in weight when grinding knee joints, is once again one of the highlight products. The N-LW (natural lightwight) core is not only lighter and more cost-effective, but also offers positive damping characteristics. When grinding knee joint components, the use of superabrasive grinding tools is the industry standard and TYROLIT produces a double coated wheel with a high wheel rim that can be used over the full 20 mm during machining.

TYROLIT offers a selection of grinding and polishing sleeves for machining hip joints. At this year's COMPAMED they will be presenting their range with various resin and vitrified bonded tools. Conventional or superabrasive grinding tools adapted to the respective application can increase the productivity of the manufacturing process. For example, the cycle times for pre-grinding could be reduced from 10 to 1 minute.

A third pillar of the medical technology portfolio is the processing of surgical instruments. An updated range of grinding and polishing tools from TYROLIT is used in a wide variety of finishing processes. Compact discs such as Unitized or Convolute discs from Bibielle – a TYROLIT Group company – as well as Elastic tools enable perfect surface finishing for optimum handling of surgical instruments.

This also includes the topic of high-quality hypodermic needles, which has been brought into focus by the COVID19 pandemic. In addition to the various needles required in many health care areas, such as lancets for blood sugar measurement and surgical sewing needles, it is particularly important to grind hypodermic needles precisely and without burrs. In this way, the conventional grinding tools and cutting discs from TYROLIT support pain-free treatments.

You will find TYROLIT at their stand at COMPAMED in Hall 14, Stand A20.
