MODERN CLINICAL EMG SYSTEM

EMG (Electromyography) is used in electrodiagnostic medicine for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. EMG testing has a variety of clinical applications. EMG is used as a diagnostics tool for identifying neuromuscular diseases and disorders of motor control. EMG signals are sometimes used to guide botulinum toxin or phenol injections into muscles. EMG detects the electric potential generated by muscle cells when these cells are electrically or neurologically activated. The signals can be analyzed to detect medical abnormalities, activation level, or recruitment order, or to analyze the biomechanics of human or animal movement.

ADVANCED CLINICAL EEG SYSTEM

Electroencephalography (EEG) is non-invasive method to record electrical activity of the brain. Electrodes are placed along the scalp, usually according to the standard placement 10/20 or 10/10. EEG measures voltage uctuations resulting from ionic current within the neurons of the brain. Clinically, EEG refers to the recording of the brain's spontaneous electrical activity over a period of time, as recorded from multiple electrodes placed on the scalp. EEG is most often used to diagnose epilepsy, which causes abnormalities in EEG readings. It is also used to diagnose sleep disorders, depth of anesthesia, coma, encephalopathies, and brain death. EEG is valuable tool for research and diagnosis. It is one of the few mobile techniques available and offers millisecond-range temporal resolution which is not possible with CT, PET or MRI.Derivatives of the EEG technique include evoked potentials (EP), which involves averaging the EEG activity time-locked to the presentation of a stimulus of some sort (TMS stimulation, visual, somatosensory, or auditory).

CLINICAL & RESEARCH TMS SYSTEM

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) can be used by neuroscientists to measure the activity and function of specic brain circuits in humans. Through the placement of an electromagnetic coil on a patient’s head, the TMS system can generate a very strong magnetic eld that passes through the scalp and into the individual’s targeted brain regions in order to induce action potentials in the subject. The most robust and widely accepted use of TMS is in the measurement of the connections between the primary motor cortex and a muscle to evaluate damage in patients suffering from neurological diseases and conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, movement disorders, motor neurone disease, migraine, and other injuries and disorders that affect the facial and cranial nerves and the spinal cord.
